It’s a perfect fall morning on a Saturday in Pennsylvania. In “normal” times, I’m getting one of my kids ready and out of the door for a soccer or football game. The air is warm, with a hint of a crisp breeze as I take in the morning sunshine. My neighbor is walking her dog, a rescue, and she asks me if I would like some of the zucchini from her garden. Of course, I say “yes!” and she promises to leave it in my mailbox.
A cyclist is riding on the shoulder of the road as I drive past him to head to the game. My kids and I pass the large horse farm and my daughter comments about the “blanket” they wear in the mornings. She asks if she can take lessons sometime. At the game, other parents who have become like family comment on the hint of cold air heading our way, and we laugh about pumpkin spice coffee and how I’m not really a fan. One parent asks if I know if there are any fun activities happening this weekend, and if the local farm is having hayrides and corn mazes yet. We look out for each other in our own small ways and share our secret favorite places to shop, eat, and spend time with our family and friends.
Chester County offers, in my opinion, the best of many worlds. With busy bustling towns full of young professionals, or country farmhouses on multiple acres of land, to active adult communities, and some of the most luxurious real estate in the country – the variety and charm of this area is unmatched. Here, you will find plenty of activities to entertain you, restaurants to excite your palate, retail therapy to cure most of our daily worries, and arts and culture to stimulate your mind, all while surrounding you with peace and “brotherly love.”
We are a community of neighbors that look out for each other. We love our sports teams, our horses, our wineries, our museums, and our small-town feel with big city convenience. A bit rural, a bit suburban, all Chester County.
