The Philadelphia Area’s Best Apple Picking this Fall
Wondering where the best apple picking is in the Philadelphia suburbs? It’s officially fall, and that means it’s officially apple season in my house! (Sorry Pumpkin Spice) If you’re like me and love to plan a fall outing with the kids, it’s never too early to start looking for that special place to make memories.
There are so many local orchards around the Philadelphia area to choose from, and you really can’t go wrong. And the fall is not just the only time that they are open! Many are open year-round and have a variety of seasonal produce and plants. My family and I like to visit a few times per season to take advantage of the variety of fresh produce. And, if we’re lucky, some even have fresh apple cider donuts just made!
Here’s a list of some local orchards that you should definitely plan to visit:
Linvilla Orchards
Media, PA – Loads of family-fun, their orchards are now open and featuring honeycrisp apples. They also have a variety of other produce available for you and the family to pick on your own. Pre-registrations is not required, parking is free! Open every weekend, check website for hours. www.linvilla.com
Weaver Orchards
Morgantown, PA – Weaver Orchards offers a wide apple variety, and availability changes weekly. Be sure to check their website for what is available that week. Starting Labor Day Weekend, you can also pick your own sunflowers! www.weaversorchard.com
